Getting to know Orlando
Orlando is located in central Florida, home to many theme parks. Visitors young & young at heart will find many things to do. My favorite memory is Harry Potter at Universal Studios. I was blown away with the Hogwarts castle and each little shop along the street. It made your feel like you were in school at Hogwarts and part of the gang. Another great experience we had with my kids was Sea World. My kids loved the shows with the animals and I did too.
If you’re not tied to a specific time of year you may want to avoid spring break crowds which start in March til April. Summer vacation also brings lots of crowds to the theme parks and hot weather. This time is from June to September. Hurricanes season runs from June to November.
Getting to Orlando
Orlando International Airport is located 6 miles from the city. This is the main access for visitors looking to be close to the theme park area. The airport has 2 terminals with about 40 million people passing through. It’s the 2nd busiest airport in Florida.
Weather in Orlando
The weather in Orlando is hot. Florida after all has the name of the “Sunshine State”. With tropical weather be prepared for downpours. The best times to visit is from mid September to early November. Late April to early June offers lower rainfall.
