Welcome to Scotland the home of castles, kilts, lochs, and highlands with a population of 5 million.  1/3 of its people live in the 4 biggest cities of Edinburgh (the capital), Glasgow, Dundee & Aberdeen.  Head north to the Highlands with magnificent mountainous views, small villages, and 790 islands that are only 10% inhabited.  Scotland rich in history & culture is comparable in size to Florida or New Zealand.  Popular films such as Chariots of Fire, Harry Potter, Braveheart, and Skyfall to name a few have been filmed at locations in Scotland.    Many tour operators offer itineraries based on Scotland film locations.  Enjoy a cruise along the canal which runs 79 miles from Inverness to Fort William.  Discover Scotland for it’s magnificent castles, beautifully landscapes gardens, and amazingly friendly people.

About Scotland

Official languages in Scotland are English and Gaelic.  Sccottish currency is GBP (pounds sterling).   Taking a drive through the country hillsides are beautiful in August.  If you love jazz music than May-September is when the International festival is held each year in Glasgow.  There’s always something special for art lovers to attend in Scotland from world class opera, theatre performances to ballet.

If you’ve ever heard of Mary Queen of Scots her birth place was in Linlighgow Palace.  Popular places to see are Stirling & Edinburgh Castle, Palace of Holy Roodhouse, and Village of New Lanark a World Heritage Site.

Taste some fine Whisky at the Grouse Glenturret Distillery or one of the local bars.  Another popular event that is held only in August of each year is the Military Tattoo.  Performers from 48 countries provide musical entertainment to over 200,000 people at Edinburgh Castle.  Tickets sell out fast so it’s wise to inquire early.

We suggest visiting the locks in the highlands or riding the Jacobite Train in the country side or perhaps you’re an avid Outlander fan who would like a tour of the sights.

These are just some of the options while visiting Scotland.  Ask us for more details on packages or tours availability.

I can’t believe the 26-day adventure actually happened and the 3 of us are still friends. Laurie our travel expert helped us plan this 3-part adventure to the UK. Scotland and the search for Jamie was our starting point and then why not see all of England. Yes, we are novice travelers, so with Laurie’s help we were able to see London, have a Downton Abby tour and also see Stonehenge and then see more than just Outlander locations. I must admit that the Outlander tour is the highlight but all of the other adventures were amazing. Our custom tour gave each of us what we wanted which no other inclusive tour could meet. It is almost 6 months since that adventure and I keep smiling remembering all of the things we saw and did. Each thought is a different memory and smile. We are indebted to Laurie for her knowledge, expertise and skill in making our trip exceptional.
